Sightseeing
Crom Castle is within easy driving distance of two other National
Trust properties in Fermanagh; Castle Coole and Florence Court.
Castle Coole
Castle Coole, sited in open parkland on the edge of Enniskillen
and upper Lough Erne, is the family home of the Earls of Belmore.
Designed by James Wyatt in the late 18th century, it is one of the
finest neo-classical houses in Ireland.
Florence Court
Florence Court was built by the 1st Lord Mount Florence in the
mid 18th century. Built in the classical style the house has magnificent
plaster work with an amazing rococo diningroom. The house is surrounded
by large areas of parkland, garden and woodland, with outstanding
views to the mountains.
Also within easy driving distance are the Marble Arch
Caves and Belleek Pottery.
Marble Arch Caves
Marble Arch Caves are one of Europe's finest showcaves allowing
visitors to explore the magnificent Mesozoic limestone caves, natural
underworld rivers, waterfalls, and winding passages, from a boat.
In 2004 Marble Arch Caves and the nearby Cuilcagh Mountain park
were jointly recognized as a Unesco Global Geopark.
Belleek Pottery
Belleek Pottery is Ireland's oldest pottery, famous for crafting
the world's most distinctive Parian China creations. One of Ireland's
top attactions the award winning Visitor Center offers guided tours
of the renowned company which has become a global icon for Irish
design and crafts.
Enniskillen
In Enniskillen (18 miles), a lively island town and Fermanagh's
Capital, you will find the most interesting pubs and the best shops.
There are also good local shops, and pubs, in Newtownbutler (4 miles)
and Lisnaskea (7 miles).
Oscar's
While in Enniskillen soak up the atmosphere at Oscar's restaurant,
dedicated to the celebrated Irish wit and dramatist Oscar Wilde,
who spent seven years (1864-1871) in the County Fermanagh Town attending
Portora Royal School.

Blake's of 'The Hollow', also in Enniskillen, is one of the
most famous pubs in Ireland. Renowned for its pints of Guinness
and Irish coffees, Blake's has proudly served visitors and locals

For your outdoor clothing and footwear, fishing tackle and other
equipment, Home, Field and Stream in Enniskillen is 'the' place
to go.
The Beach
The Atlantic Ocean, with its large sand dunes, and dramatic
rock formations, is within a 90 minute drive from Crom. Bring a
picnic or have a seafood lunch at the renowned 'Smugglers Creek'
pub on the cliffs overlooking Donegal Bay and Blue Stack Mountains.
Smugglers Creek, built in 1845, is known for having "the best
view in Ireland."
Devenish Island
Devenish Island is one of the largest of some 200 islands to
be found in Lough Erne, and is the site of ruins of an abbey, and
of a perfect 12th century round tower. The Island can be reached
by ferry.
Lough Erne by Boat
There is a variety of boats offering day cruises on Lough Erne's
extensive waterways.
